I remember when I first started pursuing my spiritual path. All sorts of difficulties and obstacles presented themselves to me. I asked my mentor why all these things were happening when I was supposedly walking the path I was meant to walk. What she told me stuck with me all these many years. It was nothing new and not even very profound but it came to me at a point in my life when I was ready to hear it.
She told me that I had to undergo such transitions so when my time came to be of assistance to others, I would have already been through what they are going through.
The opposite would be like someone who was attempting to counsel an alcoholic and had never touched a drop in their life. If you haven't been there - done that, then how could you possibly help anyone else?
You, though, have "been there and done that" in many aspects as you have traveled your journey through life. However trivial or insignificant it may seem, you can believe that there is someone out there waiting for the words of encouragement only you can give.
Don't wait. Throw them a lifeline today.
